Just after the stroke of midnight, 3 million Cablevision viewers in the New York area lost their ABC channels because of an impasse by the cable operator and broadcaster to resolve their feud over transmission fees. The signal was pulled just hours before the Oscars, which is aired by Walt Disney Co.’s ABC network.
